Wharfedale Grange and Kirkstall Abbey
Helen and Richard
Bit of a throwback this week to Helen & Richard’s wedding at Kirkstall Abbey followed by a wedding reception at Wharfedale Grange, Leeds. We often refer to this as our Pinterest wedding and think you’ll see why…
The day started with Helen and her bridesmaids getting ready at Rudding Park in the morning, then taking a vintage bus to the very beautiful Kirkstall Abbey. What a stunning setting for an outdoor humanist ceremony! These guys thought of everything, from popcorn to a ukulele bank playing Price songs. They however did not bring umbrellas, so it was pretty lucky it didn’t rain on the day!
Next stop was Wharfedale Grange for a festival style reception. Helen and Richard really wanted everyone to feel relaxed and included as family and friends are so important to them. You’ll notice the amazing attention to detail on the table settings, wedding favours, afternoon tea and cake table. Then outside there was a cocktail bar, giant lawn games, blankets, mini tipis and a soft drinks for the kids. The kids were pretending the drinks were alcoholic and doing impersonations of drunk grownups.
As you can see from the photos, this was just a fun filled wedding day. In the evening, when the party was in full swing we spoke to Helen and love that she had the wedding day of her dreams. “It’s like Pinterest come alive!” she said.
These guys were absolutely fantastic, we particularly loved that they loved Prince. When we originally blogged this on our old website, we very cleverly and painstakingly wrote everything with Prince song titles throughout the text… we thought ourselves very clever and are gutted we can’t find this piece of literary genius to share with/ inflict upon the world again.
